These days you don’t need to be a doctor or a professional trainer to understand the importance of Exercising. Thanks to the internet, there are enough resources like Instagram where fitness influencers like Charlie Meister are constantly putting in content that promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Then why is it still difficult to find the motivation to Exercise?

The perks are known, results are visible but somehow the will of “go get it” is missing.

We did a poll on Linkedin to see what the issue is and “lack of constant motivation” and “Lack of discipline” stood out on top.

It means that the attention span is low and people are not that good at consistent try. They just want a quick result. And there needs to be a workaround to make the “get fit challenge” a success.

Why do people stop Exercising?

The most common reasons why people start and stop exercising are:

  • perceived lack of time
  • injury or a fair of getting injured
  • can’t find fun or excitement in continuing workouts
  • results taking too long to be visible
  • lost motivation
  • losing vision of their workout goals

There can be many other reasons but these are the common ones. And you can cover them if you attach a strong emotion to your workouts. Something like the future of your child or growth of your business…

Tips to Make a get fit challenge Successful

1. Mindset

Your workout completely depends on your mindset. Make a habit of asking yourself time and time again: “why am I doing it?”. That “why” will keep your mindset positive. And every workout will end with a sense of accomplishment.

Also, make a mind of giving your 100% even the 80% is not acceptable you have to give your all. If you are doing it, do it properly because your body will only achieve results that the mind believes in.

2. Proper Diet

Fitness and nutrition go hand in hand to achieve the desired physical appearance.

Follow a good diet plan and take care of your pre-workout and post-workout meals.

A healthy diet contributes a huge ratio to one’s fitness. Fitness doesn’t mean that you have to starve yourself for hours you simply have to watch what you eat. All of your daily routine activities also relate to your healthy lifestyle.

3. Supportive Environment

A supportive environment plays a huge role and is considered a critical element in fitness success. Workout activities depend a lot on your environment. It empowers you to adapt to a healthy lifestyle.

Someone overseeing you and you overseeing them has some kind of psychological effect on the human mind. And the level of motivation it brings in workouts is enormous.

4. Goal Setting

To attain fitness success you must first define your goal. Your goals must be clear that where you want to see yourself. Whether it’s a short-term goal or a long term it requires true dedication, determination, and a lot of discipline. Make sure that your goal is SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timed).

5. Keep it Simple

Transforming your body doesn’t mean you have to do heavy cardio all the time. All you have to do is make exercise a habit and do it as regularly as possible. Start with activities that you enjoy the most and with time bring more intensity and variations into the workout.

6. No Excuse

Excuses, fears, and doubts are the main barriers to fitness success. Avoid them at any cost because once you start listening to them, they will take you back to day 0 in no time.

Also, adopt a no-excuses approach because it is far more difficult to restart an exercising routine than to start it for the 1st time.

Instead, make a mind of achieving bigger goals every day. And if someday your body and mind are not supporting your will to workout, decrease the intensity and time of workout.

But always keep in mind that time after time you need to challenge your abilities to perform well.

Face your fears and don’t let them hold you back. You need to believe in yourself and push yourself forward.

7. Stay Motivated

Motivation is the key to success. If you are motivated it keeps you on track to perform well all the time. And it’s also good to have a support group or loved ones in your family. Their support can really make a difference.

But things get hard when you don’t have that kind of support. If you are doing it alone you will constantly need something to stay motivated e.g. “the Mindset” or “asking yourself why” as we have already discussed these points…

Look at this quote from Zig Ziglar on motivation. It can be your solution to staying motivated.

8. Right Guidance

Nobody ever got stronger or got in shape by only thinking about it. They only did it with the right guidance and motivation. Usually, a trainer is essential for fitness success. It increases the odds of succeeding in a get fit challenge. So seek help from a professional trainer who can help you to adjust your exercise and diet plan. This tip is only optional but if you can afford it, do it. Self-investment is the best investment.

9. Massive Action

One should never wait for things to happen. Don’t just sit and relax because hoping, sitting and wishing won’t get the job done. You must take time out from your busy routine for the workout. And take massive action!

10. Wake up Early

As you are familiar with the phrase “Early bird gets the worm”. So waking up early is the key to success. It helps you to manage your routine and give you the time in which you can do your exercise properly.

Make it a habit to wake up early and follow a plan. You will surely find good results in this strategy, good luck 🙂
