Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku £11.5 (fpl price) from Inter Milan this summer, for an estimated fee of £97.5m.

The top-price fpl forward previously had a successful spell at Inter Milan, for whom he scored 64 goals in 95 appearances in the 2 seasons he stayed there.

Inter Milan were the league winners last season and much of the credit goes to Conte’s management and players like Romelu Lukaku.

Chelsea is a midfield-packed team and Lukaku has almost no competitors in the current starting lineup. The only other forward they have is Timo Werner £8.7 (fpl price) and they are both starting the games together in the 2 men forward line.

Premier League is not new for Romelu Lukaku and he already has played for 4 clubs in English top flight, namely Chelsea, West Brom, Manchester United and Everton.

Early Career

Romelu Lukaku was born in Antwerp Belgium. He began his senior career at Anderlecht in Belgium and was rated a top player from a very young age.

He was bought by Chelsea in 2011 but after 10 appearances and no goals and assists to show for, Lukaku was loaned out to West bromwich Albion, for whom he scored 17 goals in 35 appearances.

Next, he was loaned to Everton, where he scored 15 goals in 31 appearances paving way for a permanent transfer to Everton, for whom he went on to play the next 3 seasons, scoring 53 goals in 110 appearances.

Next Manchester United came in and signed Lukaku from Everton. For United he scored 28 goals in 66 appearances.

He was sold to Inter Milan and there he scored 47 goals in 72 appearances, not to forget the league title they won in Italy last year.

Now, he is back to Premier league with Chelsea and there are a lot of expectations from the Belgian big man.

You can’t hide Good players in the Premier League

Lukaku is a proven high quality forward. His 1st touch sometimes is questionable but overall he is a great team player.

His main strength is the physicality and vision. Something that is needed a lot in the English top flight football.

He can play with both feet but prefers to shoot with his left leg. With him upfront, Chelsea has a strong figure upfront who can both score and assist the goals.

The most important thing is that Lukaku now is a very experienced player who has already played in 3 top leagues and won 2 of them. That nervousness on the ball and shyness to take the shots are long gone and we can expect a lot from the Belgian forward in the ongoing Premier League season.

Romelu Lukaku in Fantasy Premier League

In FPL, there are usually a lot of quality mid-field players. They are the ones most managers trust and hope that they will bring them points. But with the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku, even the front line is packed with quality in Premier League, which is also exciting for Fantasy Premier League managers.

If we look at Lukaku’s track record in FPL, he has already played 8 seasons in English Premier League.

His best season was the 2016/17 season for Everton, where he scored 25 and assisted 6 goals in the season, followed by the 2015/16 season for Everton, where he scored 18 and assisted 7 goals.

That means, that he is well capable of scoring 20 goals a season, and with a price tag of £11.5 in fpl, Lukaku really is a player worth his price.

Seems like his ongoing season will be the best of the lot because Chelsea has a packed high-quality midfield with Lukaku as the focal man upfront. You can easily consider him in your teams without thinking twice because quality is there and he is in great touch.
