Crystal Palace signed Odsonne Edouard £6.5m (fpl price) on last day of transfer window, for an estimated fee of £14m and add-ons.

The mid-price fpl forward previously had a successful spell at Scotish club Celtic, for whom he scored 86 goals in 179 appearances.

His competitors in the current Crystal Palace squad are Christian Benteke (£6.4m) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (£5.4m) for the single forward role under Patrick Vieira’s management.

But the young french man is not afraid of competition and is expected to start regularly up front.

The thing is that Odsonne Edouard himself chose Crystal Palace over other options and there was a lot of competition from other clubs to acquire his services. But he believed in the Crystal Palace project and under the management of Patrick Vieira, his country man, he is happy to play in a top English Premier League club.

Odsoune Edouard in Fantasy Premier League

In FPL, there are usually a lot of mid-price midfielders that you can trust and get the points out of them. But under Patrick Vieira, the signing of Odsoune Edouard on the deadline day after so much effort shows that there is something special in the french man.

Edouard’s finishing ability and technique are phenomenal and he sure makes the Eagles a force to reckon with going forward. His 1st touch is good and remains very composed while keeping possession of the ball. His style is what suits the Eagle’s vision of playing calm, patient, and passing football.

At the end of the day, for a striker, pace is everything and Odsoune Edouard has got that quality in him. If you are looking to bet on a mid-price forward in FPL, he surely is your man to put in the watchlist.

But he failed to register an appearence for PSG’s 1st team. Shortly, he was transferred out on loan to Toulouse in 2016, a top flight french football club where he began competitive football career, but scored only 1 goal in 17 appearances.

The following summer, Odsonne Edouard joined Celtic on loan and this is where good things started to happen again. Celtic signed him on a permanent deal in 2018.

You can’t hide Good players in Small Leagues

Odsonne Edouard was a good player from the beginning. He only had 1 bad spell on loan at Toulouse. But other than that, he is playing great football till now. One thing that he is yet to prove is his game worth in a bigger league.

And there can’t be any better league to prove it than in the English Premier League.

The Scottish league was too small for the gem of a player he is and we are expecting him to turn things around in his favor now that there is an opportunity to grab.

We expect him to be a sure starter for Crystal Palace and hopefully this time, it will be difficult to hide him even in a bigger league like the English Premier League.
