The 2022-23 Premier League season is another exciting Premier League season to look forward to. And like every year, the number of FPL managers will increase. Last year the number of fpl managers went past 8 million and it is expected that this time it will go past 9 million players.

With so many new fpl managers coming in, we are sure there will be many of them curious about how to play the game? and things like what are the best practices to create a solid team that can achieve the top ranks and performs consistently throughout the season.

Below is a guide for those new managers on how they can create a competitive squad.

Squad selection:

You have to choose a team of 15 players.

  • 2 Goalkeepers
  • 5 defenders
  • 5 midfielders
  • 3 forwards

The budget for your team is £100m.

It means you have to pick your team within that Budget.

Avoid signing players that are injured or unlikely to play.

Make sure to utilize most of your £100m budget and don’t save any of it unless you are planning to sign an expensive player in weeks to come.

Consequently, the restriction of budget means the team has to be a combination of superstars and budget players.

So create a team with 2 or 3 weeks of fixtures in the sight.

Team selection:

You have to play 11 players like it is played in a normal football game.

A goalkeeper, at least 3 defenders, at least 3 midfielders, and at least a striker is necessary to complete a team of 11 players.

Select a captain and vice-captain.

Captain’s score is doubled and in case he doesn’t play any minutes, the vice-captain will get the double points for the game week, and a player from the bench will replace your captain in playing 11 but only as a normal player, not the captain or vice-captain.

You have 1 free transfer for every game week.

But if you don’t make any transfer in a game week, the available transfers for next game week will be 2, but it won’t increase more than that, which means any transfer not made in a game week to come will be a wasted opportunity to make a free transfer.
