In every season time after time, we get introduced to hidden gems like Mahrez, Kane, Lundstram and Dele Alli. They are the players either at the start of their Premier League career likely to score big with a low price tag or have finished the last season on a high note and are the gems that can fill your team with a lot of points. They can also be players who didn’t perform well last season and got a drop in their FPL price but are well capable to bounce back in the new season.

In this blog, we will look at such players and try to get the support of statistics of how likely they are to perform in the upcoming season of the Premier League.

The prices are not guaranteed to be low but these players are the potential fantasy premier league players to pick and get ahead of other managers.

Some of them are on the list because of their position change in FPL, which gives them a chance to get more points than the previous seasons.

1. Matt Doherty (Spurs)

  • Price: £5m

Doherty can prove to be an absolute bargain for your team. Last season he played 1238 minutes and scored only 47 points having 2 assists in his bag. But a season before, Doherty scored 4 and assisted 8, and with 12 clean-sheets his overall score was 167.

For a defender that’s a lot of points and Doherty is well capable of repeating these numbers in FPL season 2021-22.

2. Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City)

  • Price: £7.5m

The price is a bit high but there is one stat that makes Iheanacho a very valuable asset for your team. From gameweek 22 till the last game of Premier League last season, Iheanacho scored 12 goals. That’s more than any other player in the Premier League in the same time period.

That was also his best goalscoring season of all. Previously he never scored more than 8 in a season and that was 5-6 years ago when he was new to Premier League and Mancity.

Iheanacho now looks well settled in Leicester City and is well capable of scoring a lot of goals. He is in our list of hidden gems, and one of the top fantasy premier league players to pick.

3. Charlie Taylor (Burnley) and Francisco Sierralta (Watform)

  • Price: £4.5m

The names are not big but I can see a lot of clean sheets through them early on in the season. They are both low priced budget defenders.

Burnley is one of the most reliable clean-sheet winning teams in the league. In fact, equivalent to ManUtd with a number of 26 clean sheets in the last 2 seasons.

Watford, on the other hand, were the best defensive team in the Championship last season. They conceded 30 and kept 23 clean sheets in the overall season.

Signing either Charlie Taylor or Francisco Sierralta for your team can prove to be a good power from the bench in case some of your big guns go missing on the match day.

4. Robert Sánchez (Brighton)

  • Price: £4.5m

Just because it’s Brighton, seems like no one has their eyes on Robert Sánchez. The goalkeeper can give you 4 to 5 clean sheets in the first 10 games.

If you are going all-in attack and don’t want to put a lot of money in defence, sign him as a goalkeeper. Nothing is guaranteed in FPL but this decision can prove to be a good one.

5. Emmanuel Dennis (Watford)

  • Price: £5m

Not guaranteed to start but they tweeted it themselves:

Though it is highly unlikely he will start ahead of Troy Deeney or any other player.

6. Teemu and Todd (Norwich City)

  • Price: £6m and £5.5m

The Norwich pair of club superstars Teemu Pukki and Todd Cantwell have done it in the past. Although for a very short amount of time but if Norwich scores a goal, it is highly likely that one of these players will be on the goal or assist sheet.

You can wait at the start of the season, don’t buy them because all 4 of their starting fixtures are very difficult. Norwich are playing LIV (H), MCI (A), LEI (H) and ARS (A) in the 1st 4 fixtures. If they show good signs early on in those games, you can sign one of them for fixtures to come later on.

7. Ivan Toney (Brentford)

  • Price: £6.5m

He scored 33 and assisted 10 in the Championship season for Brentford. Ivan Toney can prove to be an absolute bargain for your team.

A guaranteed starter with a good eye for goal. If you believed in Aleksandar Mitrović in the past seasons, you can replace him with Ivan Toney in your team now.

8. Mason Mount (Chelsea)

  • Price: £6.5m

The English player is getting better and better every season. The upcoming season will be his 3rd of Premier League and Mason Mount is no short of talent.

Also available at a low price of £6.5m.

Last season he scored 6 and assisted 7 in the Premier League. The overall FPL points tally ended at 147 and not to forget he played a crucial role in UEFA Champions League final stages.

With such a low price, Mason Mount can be an absolute bargain. He can easily score 10+ in the season and provide a lot of assists. A good enough idea of gem player to have in the team.

That’s all in FPL hidden gems, I will keep updating the list throughout the season.
