In this article, we will look at Fantasy Premier League top players. We will analyze and recommend players that were top performers in previous seasons and the ones that the fantasy football managers trust the most.

The strengths of each of these players will be put under the microscope. And as a result, it will help you decide which player can stay in your team and which not.

Currently, there are over 20 players that come under the radar of Fantasy Premier League top players.

But we have set criteria that will further filter the players.

Our superstar criteria:

  1. Performance consistency
  2. Teams selected by %
  3. Past performance
  4. Player position

Your intuition:

There are some signings that we make purely on intuition.

We don’t need any reasoning and sign the player without hesitation.

Players like Aubameyang, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Salah are the kind of players that don’t need any hesitation in selection.

We encourage you to sign some of these players but it is highly not recommended to make every fpl signing based on your intuition.

You have to sign a combination of budget players and superstars.

Let’s look at some of the top players for Fantasy Premier League:

1. Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

  • Season starting Price: £12m

He scored 18 and assisted 14 goals in the Premier League last season. A season ago those numbers were 8 goals and 8 assists but he had joined in January’s winter transfer window and played only  1187 minutes back then.

244 points, 1st choice penalty taker, a constant threat up front and more than 42% ownership. I don’t think there are many FPL assets that can match Bruno Fernandes’s numbers.

He is the pick of superstars and top players on our list.

2. Danny Ings (Southampton)

  • Season starting Price: £8m

Last season Danny Ings scored 12 and assisted 4 in 2172 minutes he played. But that’s not the whole picture. He is a player worth more than that. A season before, Ings scored 22 goals and assisted twice.

He is a top-class player who just couldn’t get settled at Liverpool. And if 22 goals are scored once, they can get repeated again.

He is on our list of top players for the following reasons:

  • Ings is a proven goalscorer
  • 1st choice penalty taker
  • part of an exciting attacking Premier League team

With Che Adams in partnership upfront, we are hoping it will be another great season for Danny Ings at Southampton if an injury doesn’t halt his form.

Ings is currently owned by just over 3% of managers, which is low for a player of his quality.

3. Kevin Debruyne (Manchester City)

  • Season starting Price: £12m

It was an injury-hit season for Kevin Debruyne last season. Statistically talking his numbers dropped hugely from 13 to 6 goals and from 23 to 12 assists in the whole season compared to the season before.

But Kevin is a quality player. A starter what so ever if fit and heart of Mancity’s attacking line.

He can do literally anything and his crossing and shot power are 2nd to none. If he plays 2500 minutes in the upcoming season, he can easily score 250 points.

We have no doubt about his talents and he is on our list of top FPL players.

4. Jack Grealish (Aston Villa)

  • Season starting Price: £8.0

Jack Grealish on his day can bring down any opposition on his own. He is a player always active on that left-wing and very hard to take on. His main weapon is the inside cuts to towards the goal and curly shots and crosses.

Although he scored only 6 and assisted 12 goals last season, his role in the team is very broad. And if he doesn’t get injured, the numbers will surely go up.

Aston Villa is also expected to improve from where they left the league last season and with corners and penalties duty Jack Grealish surely is a star to watch.

His FPL ownership is currently more than 34% and that’s a huge trust on player’s potential.

5. Harry Kane (Tottenham)

  • Season starting Price: £12.5

Harry Kane scored 23 and assisted 14 goals last season, an improvement on 18 and 2 goals from a season before. He is a proven goalscorer. No one has any doubt about it. But last season he also assisted a lot.

Maybe it was a Mourinho effect or whatever but Kane is becoming more and more of a team player. Even if he plays selfishly, he still is a star and if the budget allows, no one can overlook him.

Last season he scored 242 points in 3083 minutes of gameplay, and that is what you can expect from a healthy Harry this time around.

His numbers are enough to put him on our list of top FPL players.

6. Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

  • Season starting Price: £12.0

Mane scored and assisted 11 each last season. A little dip of form compared to the previous season where he scored 18 and assisted 10 in a title winning campaign. But this is how football is. When overall team performance dips, stats of most of the players go down.

Except Salah, who scored 231 points, it was a bad season for every Liverpool player.

Mane bagged 176 points, way less than 221 from a season before and his current ownership is just above 2.5%, which is expected to go up as the season progresses.

He is a top class player and dips in form is not an unusual thing. It was an injury hit season for Liverpool and Mane surely will make a strong comeback. He is in our list of top FPL players.

7. Muhammad Salah (Liverpool)

  • Season starting Price: £12.5m

Salah scored 22 and assisted 6 goals last season. His overall points were an impressive 231, only 2 less of Liverpool’s title winning season.

And this is incredible because when the whole team went down due to injuries and stuff, Salah still stood firm.

The Egyptian king is no short of fame and performance. And is easily part of our list of top fpl players.

Salah currently is in more than 50% teams of FPL managers.

8. Heung-Min Son (Tottenham)

  • Season starting Price: £10.0

Son scored 17 and assisted 11 goals last season with overall points of 228. From the last 5 seasons, he is a consistent performer and only improving each season.

Although his price is going up every season but that is what happens when you start playing better.

Surprisingly, Sonny is owned by only 11% FPL managers. That’s pretty low and expected to go up because Son is a great player.

He played 3119 minutes last season, his highest in 6 years at spurs.

With all the numbers and indicators going in favour of sonny, he is on our list of top players.

9. Trent-Alexander Arnold (Liverpool)

  • Season starting Price: £7.5

TAA scored 2 and assisted 8 goals last season. An overall of 160 points with 3029 minutes on the pitch.

He is the most expensive defenders but totally worth it. Especially when you look at his offensive abilities and duties.

He takes the corners and gives a lot of assists from the wing. The 16 assists to goal he provided a season ago is a record for any defender and being a young player playing at a big club like Liverpool, he can surely repeat the numbers of the title winning season.

His FPL ownership is currently at over 28%. And Trent is in our list of top players.

10. Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)

  • Season starting Price: £10.0

Jamie is a player who has seen everything in English football and life. From 4th division to winner of the Premier League with Leicester City, Jamie Vardy is top player.

Last season he scored 15 and assisted 14 goals. An overall points tally of 187 with 2838 minutes on the pitch.

He is the 1st choice penalty taker and a proven goal scorer.

His numbers are enough to put him in our list of top players.

11. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal)

  • Season starting Price: £10m

Last season was not a good one for Aubameyang with 10 goals and 3 assists but that’s not the whole story. He had an injury hit season with minutes on the pitch reduced to 2330 compared to 3136 minutes he played in the season before.

Other than that, he is a proven goal scorer who scored 22 goals in both his previous campaigns with Arsenal.

Good thing is that his price is reduced to £10m, which can prove to be a bargain if he stays fit.

Currently Aubameyang is owned by only 3% managers before the start of season, and that number will surely go up as the season progresses.

He is in our list of top FPL players.

That’s all in Fantasy Premier League top players.
