Crystal Palace signed Conor Gallagher £6.0m (FPL price) on loan from Chelsea last season.
The FPL budget midfielder previously had a great spell at Chelsea’s youth team of Epsom Eagles. He has also represented England at all youth levels i.e. England U-17, 18, 19, 20, and 21.
He is yet to make an appearance for Chelsea but the loan deal with Crystal Palace was his 4th loan spell. Previously he was loaned to Charlton Athletic (2019-20 season), Swansea City (2020), and West Bromwich Albion (2020-21 season).
As far as numbers are concerned, he scored 6 goals for Charlton and 2 for West Brom in previous loan spells.
The best of his loan spells was last season’s stay at Crystal Palace.
The English midfielder was in great touch and bossing the whole Crystal Palace midfield. He scored 8 and assisted 6 goals throughout the season.
Conor Gallagher was Born in Epsom England. He began his career in the youth system of Chelsea and represented England on all youth levels.
He has already played for more than a dozen teams at youth and top flight levels plus represented England at all levels except the national team yet.
His elder brother is also a footballer who played at a non-league level. He is a Chelsea player most of his career on loan but his future all belong to Chelsea.
In fact, his whole family is Chelsea fans and they live just at a 10 minutes drive from Cobham i.e. the Chelsea facilities.
Conor Gallagher is not made for Small Leagues
He is a young player and has a great future ahead. Chelsea is a team well packed in talented players and Conor Gallagher is one of their bright future stars.
His initial loan spells were not good but seem like he is getting up to the mark and the last season with Crystal Palace was very important to decide where his future belongs.
He lived up to the expectation and was the 2nd best player in Crystal Palace’s lineup as far as FPL points are considered(140) after Zaha’s 150 points.
Conor Gallagher in Fantasy Premier League
In FPL, there are usually a lot of mid-price midfielders that you can trust and get the points out of them. Conor Gallagher is one of them.
With the price tag of just £6.0m, he is a bargain to have in team.
Technically, he is a sharp player with great game awareness and vision. Very difficult to dispossess because he rarely makes solo attempts and understands that football is more of a team game.
But he does take his chances and give the opponents a run for the ball when the opportunity is there to attack.
If you are looking to bet on a mid-price midfielder in FPL, Conor Gallagher surely is a great option to look at in the mid price range.
The only question is what setup Thomas Tuchel has in mind for his Chelsea lineup?
There are lots of other good options in team, and players like Sterling, Mount, Ziyech, Pulisic might put Gallagher into shadows and on to the bench for a whole season.
